Importance of airways in the development and health of kids and adults

There are a great number of articles and other literature emerging about the importance of airways in the development and health for both kids and adults. For example, here is a very impactful video about a boy who had airway issues that were not properly diagnosed until he had a sleep study and saw a dentist/orthodontist.

As part of our screening process, we look to see if kids and adults may have any airway issues. If they do have compromised airways, frequently this could mean that they may not be getting enough oxygen to their brains while sleeping, which could result in many serious effects. Treatment can involve positive pressure devices, oral appliances or orthodontics. The results of using such treatments are often life changing.
